CSK beat RCB by 7 wickets in IPL Opener
The IPL opener was
not that much thrilled and aggressive which the fans were expecting between the
RCB and CSK. In MA Chidambaram Stadium MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to field
first. RCB walked in with just the two spinners whereas CSK came with three
spinners plus two part-time spinners. This decision of CSK proved as the reason
of their victory over the RCB. CSK spinners took eight wickets, the highest
number in IPL and RCB were bowled out on the score of just 70.
CSK started
brilliantly reducing RCB to 39/4 in 8
overs. Thanks to Harbhajan Singh who
dismissed the three main batsman of the RCB Virat Kohli(6), MM Ali(9) and AB de Villiers(9). On the other
hand Imran Tahir was also making pressure on the batsman of the RCB and
finished with 3 wickets of ShivamDubey(2), NA Saini(2) and Chahal(4).
Batsman of the Match
When all the batsmen
were losing their wickets against the spinners of CSK, Parthiv Patel somehow
controlled his temptation to go for the big shots and opted to save his wicket
and picking up singles and doubles and finished with 29 off 35 balls.
Bowler of the Match
Tahir was absolutely
dominating over the RCB batsman during his spell because of the sharp turn in
his bowling making batsman confused with his variations. He finished his spell
with figures of 4-1-9-13 with a wicket-maiden in the 14th over.
In 2nd
innings Chahal managed to create pressure on the CSK batsman and dismissed
Shane Watson for a duck in the 3rd over. However, Ambati Rayudu and
Suresh Raina stick to the crease to steady the innings with a 32-runs
partnership. Raina was dismissed on 19 while trying for a big short against
Moeen Ali. Rayudu scored 28 runs of 42 balls but couldn`t take his team to the
finish line as bowled by the Mohmmed Siraj. Ravindra Jadeja andKedhar Jadhav
then took the responsibility and confirmed the victory of their team with the
12-runs partnership.
